Founding Partner Robert Eglet was named 2026 Civil Plaintiff Trial Lawyer of the Year by the National Trial Lawyers in recognition of his work securing a historic $3 billion verdict against Real Water, Inc.
The verdict, one of the largest product liability awards in U.S. history, held the Las Vegas-based company accountable for poisoning consumers with toxic, chemically contaminated alkaline water.
The Trial Lawyer of the Year award is one of the nation’s most coveted honors for plaintiff trial lawyers, recognizing those who have achieved extraordinary results and made a significant impact on the practice of civil litigation. Robert was previously honored as Trial Lawyer of the Year in 2013, making him one of only two attorneys to be recognized twice by The National Trial Lawyers with this prestigious award.
“Being recognized again as Trial Lawyer of the Year is both humbling and deeply meaningful,” said Mr. Eglet. “This honor reflects not only personal commitment, but the collective dedication of every attorney and staff member at Eglet Law who strives to achieve justice for our clients every day.”
The Trial Lawyer of the Year award is one of many distinctions Robert has earned over his 38-year career. Over that time, he has received nearly every major honor in the legal profession, including:
- Trial Lawyer of the Year (2005, 2012)- Nevada Justice Association
- National Lawyer of the Year (2010) – Lawyers USA
- Keith Givens Visionary Award (2020) – National Law Journal
- Thurgood Marshall Fighting for Justice Award (2013) – American Bar Association
- Professional Service Distinguished Alumni Award (2026) – University of the Pacific McGeorge School of Law
These recognitions reflect a career defined by results, including more than $7 billion in verdicts and settlements secured on behalf of victims of corporate negligence, product defects, catastrophic injuries, and mass disasters.
